EU-Armenia Summit Signals Major Geopolitical Shift in Caucasus

Relations between Yerevan and Moscow have grown increasingly fractious since 2023, pushing Armenia to look westward with growing urgency. Though Yerevan remains formally tied to the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union, it has publicly declared its ambition to pursue EU membership and has suspended its participation in the Moscow-led Collective Security Treaty Organization — a move that signals a clear and deliberate pivot away from Russian influence.
